JAMONES ALJOMAR, S.A., is a family-owned company that was created in 1989 by Mr. ALFONSO SÁNCHEZ BERNAL and his wife Mrs. Mª del CARMEN SÁNCHEZ ÁLVAREZ. It is located in the I.-2 Industrial Park in Guijuelo, and currently covers a surface area of more than 18,000 m2. We have a staff of over 60 workers and our annual sales turnover is approximately 30 million euros.

The origin of flavour

25 years ago Mr. Alfonso Sánchez decided to write his own dream and implement the knowledge that he had acquired since his childhood. And so the Aljomar company was born in Guijuelo, the fruit of the perseverance, effort and work of one family. Starting with an ardent respect for nature and regard for raw materials, and adhering to a meticulous control of the production process, today Aljomar is synonymous with quality and tradition, perfectly combining craftsmanship with innovation. Only in this way is it possible to maintain the flavor which is to be shared with the most demanding palates in more than 30 countries.

A high quality cycle

The process of raising the Aljomar Iberico pigs begins in the Dehesa meadows, the first step in a meticulously Controlled Production and Manufacturing Cycle that meets the most demanding and strict standards of food quality control and safety. From the utmost care in the genetic control of the raw material to the marketing of the final product.

The Iberian pig is the first phase of the cycle. The effort the Aljomar family has made to create a quality product requires attention to the most minimal detail of the production cycle, beginning with the selection of each animal that is bred in the fine pastures of Salamanca and Extremadura.
